We live in a world with what seems like impossible beauty standers, with social media telling us we should be able to fit into children’s clothes and eat nothing but kale. We seem to have forgotten that we all have bodies and all of our bodies are amazing, real bodies are beautiful and real bodies are sexy. Our flesh and blood carry us through life asking for little thanks, boudoir is a perfect way to thank our bodies as well as celebrate them.

As always it was an absolute pleasure working with this beauty who was celebrating her birthday in style with a custom photoshoot.

There are many reasons why all women should consider doing a boudoir shoot at some point in their life. I want to focus on the two that are the most important too me in this blog post, of course boudoir is so fun and of course, those classy yet sexy photos can be a great gift for your loved on but to some women we’ve worked with the meaning and depth that those photos have is indescribable.

Self-confidence 

Boudoir is a wonderful opportunity to get out of your comfort zone. challenging negative self-perceptions and allowing you to see yourself through a different lens. I couldn’t tell you how many of our clients have look at their photos with a sense of disbelief, never have they felt so beautiful. The goal is always to bring your most natural and beautiful self to light while softly masking any imperfections with the skillful use of light and shadow. This provides many of our clients with a boosted body image as well as higher self-esteem.

Healing

Just like our bodies have the ability of undergoing wonderful things, our flesh and blood is also capable of being vulnerable, capable of trauma and pain. The emotional wounds that come with physical pain can take longer to heal. Trauma and similar experiences can leave you with a negative body image and a disconnection from body. Boudoir can give a sense of therapeutic relief and relieve the pain.

Sporty, Sexy and Sweet Boudoir Photography

Staying tuned is what we do best. Life is topsy turvy and couples planning their weddings this year have had quite a time, replanning, relocating or postponing.

Gorgeous Ms K and her sweetie had a Mayan destination wedding for all their loved ones and friends this fall, which as you can imagine came to a screeching halt. With a little tap dance and help from their bridal party, the celebrations turned into a Alberta country wedding with just their closest peeps.

As a treat for herself and unforgettable gift for her groom, boudoir with me was a bonus, as a last minute addition to her wedding to-do list.

Looking back at her photos I am blown away by how much the camera loved her eyes, smile and killer curves, reminding me of a Victoria Secret model. I also love the variety of outfits and looks ranging from sporty, vampy and soft and sweet. The diversity clearly reflects the multitude of aspects to Ms K.

As an album or just a few photos as a teaser, boudoir photos for grooms has quickly become a tradition and it is easy to see why.

Grooms love the sexy images taken just for him by the woman he loves and brides love to take the time and pamper themselves with the experience.
